Macaroni Cheese & Bacon

What makes a really good Mac Cheese?  It is always the sauce.  This sauce recipe I learnt from my mother (who learnt it from her mother, a domestic science teacher, who learnt it from her’s!).  A truly perfect bechamel sauce is a painstaking process.  So much so, in my mother’s family, it earnt the name ‘tedious sauce’! Hence our Mac Cheese and Bacon is a firm favourite among many.  It is packed with mature cheddar, smoked bacon and sweet cherry tomatoes in our rich and creamy béchamel sauce. It’s melted cheese, the perfect pasta and tasty bacon, what more could you want?…enjoy!

  5. The first macaroni and cheese I’ve not had to add any additional seasoning to! Perfectly flavoured with a brilliant addition of bacon and ‘crunchy herby bits’ – with the occasional cherry tomato too!
